Less busywork. More time for the work that matters most.
Our Origins
Jerold McDonald was working inside healthcare administration, leadership and operations, using technology and early automation to rethink how work got done.
Ani Bagepalli was building across artificial intelligence, machine learning, natural language processing and other emerging technologies.
In 2018, those paths converged around a question: What if we applied that intelligence to the everyday work of healthcare?
Omaiven was built to find out.
Our Philosophy
We envisioned healthcare without the busyness: unlocking time by automating administrative tasks, to reduce costs and increase access to care.
Our Mission
Our ambition was to save one billion minutes of busywork across healthcare. Time back for judgment, relationships, care and empathy. Ultimately, fewer barriers between people and the care they needed.

The beginning of the product journey
Mia was Omaiven’s initial AI assistant: an early expression of using AI and automation to take on administrative healthcare work. As it developed, Mia supported scheduling, COVID-related questions and transportation needs, helping patients connect with care.
Mia in MedCity NewsWe worked across the technology healthcare organizations already depended on, connecting existing systems rather than requiring every core system to be replaced.
As we built, deployed and learned, the idea grew beyond a single assistant. Capabilities expanded across administrative workflows into a Digital Workforce working alongside healthcare teams, giving people more time for judgment, relationships and care.

Learning through deployments and additional workflows.
Broader operational capacity alongside healthcare teams.
Across healthcare operations and existing technology.
What We Built
AI-powered automation for the work between a patient and care. We built across the operating surface of healthcare, alongside the teams and systems already there.
Our Customer Work
Early COVID response
During the early days of COVID, healthcare teams faced a rapidly changing operational crisis. Within weeks, Omaiven helped a community clinic support approximately 12,000 vaccinations and save more than 2,000 staff hours. An emerging technology met an urgent need for capacity.

Omaiven began in 2018 with a practical question about the work of healthcare. The journey brought that question into clinics, existing technology systems and conversations about access, equity and humanity. The thread through it all was simple: technology should give people more room to be people.
Omaiven concluded operations in 2025. Jerold and Ani carried the experiences, ideas, and lessons from building the company into their next chapters.
